The new monarch, delivering the first festive King's Speech since 1951, expressed his gratitude for the 'love and sympathy you have shown our entire family' since the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September.
In addition, he took the time to express his compassion for families enduring the ongoing cost-of-living crisis and commended charitable and religious organizations for assisting those in need.
During his televised message, Charles spoke about the 'great anxiety and hardship' experienced by many attempting to 'pay their bills and keep their families fed and warm.' The message included footage of a foodbank and other scenes of the homeless receiving meals.
During the current economic crisis in the country, the King thanked the "wonderfully kind people" who have donated food or their time to those less fortunate.
His Majesty delivered the address while standing in the chapel's apse, where his "beloved" mother and her husband, Prince Philip, are interred.
