Retailers face harassment from thieves

Businesses have been used by the Lord to drive economies. Businesses are a blessing to communities and nations. What happens when businesses face threats from the communities they serve? Businesses are forced to take extreme measures. Walmart, the largest retailer in the United States, is seeing a decline in its profit due to shoplifting.

Walmart, like many other businesses this year, has been victimized by criminals. Even Walmart's CEO warned last month that prices would go up and locations could go if the recent crime wave didn't stop. This comes as people swarm to stores in preparation for the holidays.

"Theft is an issue. It’s higher than what it has historically been," Says Walmart CEO

The National Retail Federation stated earlier this year that retail crime cost American businesses $100 billion. Target, a competitor of Walmart, claimed this year that thefts cost the company $400 million, a 50 percent rise from last year.
