A Connecticut woman has filed a lawsuit against JetBlue, seeking $1.5 million in damages after she allegedly sustained severe burns from hot tea spilled on her during a flight.

Tahjana Lewis was traveling from Orlando, Florida, to Hartford, Connecticut, with her 5-year-old daughter on May 15 when the incident occurred. According to the lawsuit filed in June, during a bout of turbulence, a flight attendant was serving beverages and a passenger seated in front of Lewis requested hot tea. The tea was accidentally spilled on Lewis while being served, causing extreme burns to her chest and lap.
