Dr. Gooby trained as a neurosurgeon, attending MIT for his undergraduate studies, followed by four years of medical school and six years of neurosurgery training.

Despite his success, Dr. Gooby found himself unhappy and disillusioned with the medical profession. His initial passion for neurosurgery was driven by a desire to help people and relieve suffering. However, he realized that the surgeries he performed often did not address the underlying problems of his patients.

Dr. Gooby observed that many patients improved not because of the surgeries but due to lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise, stress management, and social support. He felt a moral conflict as the medical system focused more on treatments that generated revenue rather than promoting genuine healing and preventive care.


The realization that the medical profession, especially surgery, often involved treating symptoms rather than causes led to his growing dissatisfaction.He struggled with the fact that his work was not in line with his values of genuinely relieving suffering and promoting overall health.

Dr. Gooby faced significant personal challenges, including weight gain, stress, and a sense of hopelessness.With the support of his wife, who encouraged him to prioritize his well-being, he decided to leave his job without a clear plan for the future.This decision, although difficult, brought him immense relief and happiness.

After quitting, Dr. Gooby focused on improving his health, spending time in nature, and enjoying life with his dog, Doobie.

He created a YouTube channel to document his experiences and share peaceful nature scenes, which he found therapeutic.Through this new endeavor, he aims to help others find stress relief and improve their well-being, aligning more closely with his original goal of alleviating suffering.
