Nicki Minaj arrested in Amsterdam, claims officials 'took my bags without consent', later released

Nicki Minaj was detained by authorities at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport on Saturday, according to a source from the Dutch National Police speaking to ABC News.

The Dutch police issued a statement revealing that a 41-year-old woman had been arrested for attempting to leave the country while in possession of soft drugs, a violation of local laws. However, she was later released from custody. "After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect was fined and can continue her journey," the police announced on the social platform X.

The incident led to the postponement of Minaj's scheduled concert in Manchester, England. The venue, Co-op Live, shared on X, "Despite Nicki's best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight's show happen, the events of today have made it impossible," expressing regret over the disruption caused.

In an Instagram Live video earlier, Minaj shared a conversation with a police officer who confirmed her detention was due to drug possession. She later updated her followers on X, detailing the situation. "Now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down," Minaj posted, shedding light on the unfolding events.
